Tideway work starts at Putney Embankment

I just wanted to take this opportunity to update everyone on the Tideway works which have started at Putney Embankment.

The preparatory work which has already started is to install a temporary slipway to maintain river access for the main construction phase, which will start in the summer. Access to the river and foreshore will continue to be available at Putney Drawdock slipway until July 2017 when the main construction phase begins. The new temporary slipway will be in use from the end of March, and Putney Slip/Putney Hard will not be in use during the work, however it will be available for the Head of the River Race.

Working hours on Putney Embankment are restricted to 8am-6pm Mon-Fri, and 8am-1pm on Saturdays. Some of the pedestrian footway has been re-routed, some temporary traffic management is in place and parking spaces on the Embankment and Glendarvon Street have been removed temporarily.
