Justine joined Linden Lodge Principal, Roger Legate, and school governors to turn the first sod in the grounds of Linden Lodge where its new Family Centre is being built.
Justine joined parents to discuss some of the challenges they face when preparing a special needs child for the transition into adulthood. After taking some questions, she then joined the leadership team in the school grounds to officially mark the beginning of the family centre.
Justine said ‘I think the Family Centre will be a fantastic resource for both students and their families where they can come together to share their experiences. It is also really important for families to have one place where they can go to get information and receive training that can support them on, what can be, a very difficult journey. The fact that the Family Centre will also be used to run after-school clubs and special holiday activities really does show that Linden Lodge is committed to providing the best possible care and opportunities for its students.’
Linden Lodge have worked hard to raise money for its Family Centre but it still has a little way to go. To donate to the Family Centre Appeal, or to find out more visit: http://www.lindenlodge.wandsworth.sch.uk/222/family-centre-appeal.
