Wandsworth Council have launched a public consultation so that local people can have their say on Roehampton Playing Fields.
For the past year I've chaired meetings of the Roehampton Playing Fields Community Trust which is a group of local residents and representatives of those who use the fields and the pavilion. They've come together to develop plans to run and develop the facilities more effectively, working hard to bring in all sorts of local groups and residents who are keen to see how they can get more involved in using the playing fields. Earlier this year, the Council agreed to open up a new process to consider how the playing fields are run and looked after so that our Trust can put its proposals forward.
You can now contribute your views at https://haveyoursay.citizenspace.com/wandsworthecs/roehampton-19/ and the consultation closes on Friday 23 August. The Council can then proceed to the next stage of the process which is to invite groups to bid to maintain and manage the playing fields as well as to propose any upgrading of the site's facilities. It's really important that these work well for our community and so I would encourage everyone to have their say about the activities you'd like to see there and the hours it could be used.
