As you may know, I made a joint response with Stephen Hammond MP to Merton Council regarding their proposals for Wimbledon Park. I have now received a response which I wanted to share with you. Please find this below.
Please find below a copy of the consultation response I have submitted with Stephen Hammond, MP for Wimbledon, regarding Merton Council's masterplan proposals for Wimbledon Park. The consultation is open for comments until 22nd August, so do make sure you have your say.
As many of you will know, a planning application was submitted for the Winkworth’s site on Wimbledon Park Road shopping parade (2016/3337). The application is for prior approval to build a basement flat underneath the existing retail unit.
Wandsworth Council has confirmed that is has refused applications for prior approval for Decorative Antiques (2016/2105), South West Cars (2016/2107) and Swan Dry Cleaners/R J Cars (2016/2108) on Wimbledon Park Road shopping parade. The applications have caused much concern for both residents and businesses locally, who were worried about the loss of important small local businesses.
