Campaigns - Crime
As your Member of Parliament, I am working with our local police to tackle crime. It is a key priority for me and one which my constituents raise regularly in my weekly MP surgery. I meet with Inspector Martin of Putney police every month to talk through local crime issues face to face and I have joined our police out on patrol.
Now I need your help in the fight against crime in our local community and getting the police resources we need.
Below you will find a printable copy of my crime survey, which it would be very helpful if you could complete. It will help me get a true understanding of the level of crime in our local area - enabling me to better argue the case for extra resources.
The results of the Residents' Surveys I carry out regularly with councillors tell us that many people who say they have been victims of crime did not report it to the police. However, police resources are targeted at areas based on levels of reported crime. There is a real danger that our local community is not getting its fair share and in fact we still have fewer uniformed police officers here in Wandsworth than we did 10 years ago.
That is why I need your help. The survey results will help me argue the case for more police.
I will also make sure that the results of the survey are passed on to Inspector Martin in Putney and Wandsworth Borough Commander, Chief Superintendent Low, to help them tackle local crime more effectively.
I really do hope you will be able to help me by taking two or three minutes to complete the survey and return it to me at the freepost address:
Justine Greening MP
People across Putney, Roehampton and Southfields are rightly concerned about crime and anti-social behaviour in our area and the issue of youth on youth crime is especially concerning. Justine regularly meets with local Police chiefs to raise the concerns of local residents and highlight any areas experiencing particular crime problems. It is crucial that we get the best possible service locally, and make sure that Police resources are focussed where needed in our local community. If you want to support Justine then sign up to the crime campaign by entering your details below or contact us directly with your specific questions or concerns.
